 The pink lake of Senegal

Lake Rose also known as  Lake Retba, is one of the most visited sites in Senegal  due the spectacular view lake through the day, This salt lake owes its fame to the original and changing color of its water, for grey color to the pink one, researchers mentioned this changes happened because of the organic metabolism in the deepest layers of water.

Lake Retba (or Lac Rose as it is known by locals) is separated only by some narrow dunes from the Atlantic Ocean and, as expected its salt content is very high. Its salinity content compares to that of the Dead Sea and during the dry season it exceeds it.

the local citizen use it as a naturel resources for their  dilly needs, they explore the salt by dragging a huge amount of naturel salt from the pink lake in Senegal.

not only people from Senegal works there, the lake gather many nationalities who work as a permanent works with a full time job in salt dragging in order to response the world wild need of this unique salt comes from the pink lake based in Senegal.

The national community used the extracted salt for many purposes, they use it in fishing industry and also in art, some traditional artiste used in their drawing materiel also know as sand painting.

the unique lake attracted many freeing  entrepreneur to build and establish their own project around the coastal line of the lake, even it witness a good blue economy  strategies but its impacted the water quality, furthermore  a good governance highly needed to be implemented in order to preserve and develop the unique Pink lake of Senegal.

also a landscape management are needed to stabilized the sand dunes from moving toward the deepest places in the lake, also the Dakar rally are damaged the landscape, a local activist looking to change the lines in Dakar Rally just to preserve the nature in the Pink lake.
